As president, I would like to welcome you to the website for the Edinburgh Magic Circle -our magical home on the internet. I would like to take this opportunity to give you a little information on the EMC, and a brief description of our aims and activities.
The Edinburgh Magic Circle was founded in 1946 and has been active continuously since then. We have had a number of different homes over that period, but we are now based at the Police Club, York
Place, Edinburgh. Our meetings are held fortnightly on the first and third Monday of each month - members are provided with a syllabus, giving details of meeting dates and activities. Meetings
usually start at 19:30 and generally start with a business meeting followed by a discussion or lecture on an aspect of magic.
Our members range from full-time professional magicians right through to amateur hobbyists. Their interests range from close-up magic to mentalism - and everything in between. We are a friendly,
welcoming group - always happy to share ideas and offer help to those who are keen to learn.
The aims of the EMC are to promote magic in all its forms. To help nurture the talent in all EMC members, and promote learning in relation to the performance of magic - for all members at all
levels of ability. To contribute to the development of EMC members and promote new ideas and innovation in all fields of magic.
We also host an open night once a year where we put together an evening of entertainment.
Please follow the links on the pages to browse the site, where you will find more
detailed information on the background of the EMC and its past and current
activities.
Best Wishes
Mark Fisken MMC
President of the Edinburgh Magic Circle
